Check the walls
Import a room scan

Cabinet vendor (current project)
Which company this job's cabinets come from. You can still place parts from the other company — Blue Valley carries no decorative hoods or hardware, so those come from KCD — and the order splits into one purchase order per company.

Not signed in
Advanced — sync server address
Leave blank to use the B4Y-managed sync server. Only change this if you run your own.
Danger zone
Permanently deletes your account from your B4Y Sync server. Your local device keeps its files either way.
Recent activity
Every push, delete and restore across your team's projects — owners only.
Cloud Sync (Google Drive)
Sync your projects to Google Drive so they're available on every device — and survive if you reinstall the app.
Not connected
Advanced — Drive folder name + OAuth Client ID
Default: App Projects/B4Y Kitchen Designer/Saved Projects. Use / to nest folders — the app reuses these exact folders in your Drive (it no longer creates its own). If you rename or move them in Drive, update this field to match.
Only change this if you want to use your own Google Cloud project. Default is the B4Y-managed project.

Your defaults
Business-wide defaults for new jobs. The job that is open keeps its own numbers (above) — "Use my defaults on this job" copies these onto it. Saved to this browser.
On subcontractor work — an awarded bid with no markup of its own bills at this.
Blue Valley's flat per-cabinet assembly charge.
The cabinet company's freight charge. Editable per project. A new job is charged it once it has a cabinet; a lumber-yard delivery goes in Exterior / addition materials or a line you type.
Billed when material the customer supplies is late, wrong or short. Editable per job.
New jobs figure this on what the vendor charges you (cabinets, parts and freight, at cost) and fold it into the cabinet line — never on your markup, and never shown to the customer. Labor is not taxed (capital improvement).
Catalog prices are already your Blue Valley Builder cost — leave at 1.0 unless you have a separate negotiated discount on top.
Same as above — default 1.0.
Custom paint colour (Blue Valley)

Times the cabinets in a custom colour.
Of the custom-colour cabinets' Blue Valley cost.
Blue Valley's charge for painting cabinets a colour they don't stock. It is a cabinet cost: marked up and taxed like the cabinets, and inside the customer's Cabinets line. Blank = not set: not charged, and Design Health reminds you.
Countertop extras
Extra on every foot of countertop with a beveled edge. Eased is the standard edge — no extra.
Extra on every foot of countertop with a bullnose edge.
The stone panel that turns down to the floor at an open end — its depth × 36″ high.
These apply to every job, now and new, unless This job has its own. Blank = not set: that extra is not charged, and Design Health reminds you.
Deck / porch tear-out
Times the sq ft of a deck, porch or patio marked Demolish or Rebuild. Offered as one tap beside Removal and Hauling — it adds to what is there, never replaces it. Blank = not set: nothing is offered.
Doors & windows
Every job uses these unless that door / window has its own price (typed in the door itself) or This job has its own rate. A box applies as soon as you leave it. Tagged "researched" = a Raleigh-area price researched 2026-10-13 — type your own to replace it; blank goes back to the estimate. Installed work is not taxed and has no markup.

Display Preferences
Defaults for how the app looks when you launch it. (Saved to this browser.)
On a screen between 1025 and 1279 px wide — an iPad
held landscape, or a small laptop window — the catalog and pricing panels
start as rails and open over the drawing, so the kitchen keeps the room.
Tick this to keep them open beside it, the way a wide desktop does.
Ceiling height (current project)
How tall the walls render in 3D. Standard residential is 8' (96"). Modern builds often use 9' (108") or 10' (120"). Changing this doesn't move any cabinets — just adjusts the wall height in the 3D view.
Residential (one- and two-family dwellings) uses NEC 2017 + NC Residential Code. Commercial uses NEC 2020 + NC Building Code (Assembly A-2 for a restaurant / bar).
° clockwise from the top of the plan0 means north is straight up the screen, 90 means it points right, 180 down, 270 left. Only you see the arrow: it is not on printed plans or the customer's link.
Rules differ by town: tick only what your town counts. The app assumes nothing. Items that overlap are counted twice. The house footprint is measured to the outside of the walls.
Wall cabinet top line (current project)
Height of the TOP of your wall cabinets off the floor. Every wall cabinet aligns its top to this line, so shorter cabinets (over a range hood, fridge, or sink) automatically hang higher and stay flush on top. Standard is 84″ (36″ counter + 18″ backsplash + 30″ cabinet). Use 90″ for 36″ cabinets, 96″ for 42″ to the ceiling.
Common: 84″ (30″ cabs), 90″ (36″ cabs), 96″ (42″ cabs to 8' ceiling). A cabinet you've manually moved keeps its custom height until you tap "Align top".
Stacked upper cabinets (current project)
For tall walls. Turn this on and any wall cabinet gets a “Stack a cabinet on top” action, which places a second cabinet directly on its top. The app suggests the tallest one that fits and picks glass when there is a glass version — you can swap it for anything else afterwards.
Appliance finish (current project)
Default color for all appliances (fridge, range, dishwasher, hood, oven, microwave). You can override any single appliance in the 3D view: tap it and pick a color from the bottom toolbar.
Dimension rows
Moved. The four dimension rows now live in one place — the Measure & Annotate tab on the layout toolbar — so a toggle can no longer disagree with itself. The device-wide override is still below in Advanced ▸ "Always show cabinet dimensions".

Shows a small overlay (bottom-left) with pointer-event rate, handler time, frame time, and active pointer types — for diagnosing input lag on a specific device. Also available by adding ?debug=input to the URL.
Keeps the cabinet width dimension rows (base & wall) on the plan even when the Dimensions toggle is OFF. The window/door openings and overall wall-length rows still follow the toggle. Saved to this browser (applies to every project).
Ordering rulesHow the Order review decides a line is incomplete. These describe the cabinet line you buy from, not the kitchen you're drawing, so they're saved to this browser and apply to every project.Anything at or under this width is treated as a single door and needs a Left/Right hinge side before the order can be exported. Blue Valley's 24" boxes ship single-door, so 24 is the default — raise or lower it if your line differs.
Kitchen build defaultsYour standards for the Auto layout builder. These shape what auto-layout generates; you can still move or resize anything by hand afterward. Saved to this browser (applies to every project).Sets the fridge and its over-fridge wall cabinet width. (30" is not in the Blue Valley catalog.)Builds the over-fridge cabinet as a 24"-deep (pantry-depth) tall cabinet reaching the upper-cab top line, so the fridge reads built-in.Cabinets start this far from a door casing; move closer by hand anytime.
Sharing & hosting
How this device publishes customer links.
The upload key lets this device publish share links (AR / design / 360°). Stored only in this browser. Enter a new key only if publishing fails — leaving it blank keeps your current key.
Privacy & data

Price PINRequired on this device: returning from Customer view to the Designer (cost/margin) view asks for it — so a customer holding the iPad can't see your prices. Each person makes their own. Stored only in this browser (as a hash).
Auto-lock when idle
If the iPad sits untouched this long, the app switches itself to Customer view —
pricing hidden, cost settings locked — so an unattended screen never shows your margin.
Returning needs your PIN. Needs a PIN to be set; off when set to “Never”.
Where your projects are stored
Projects live in this browser on this device. They are not on a server
unless you turn on Google Drive sync, which copies them to your own
Drive account — B4Y never holds them. Clearing this browser's data, or a device
failure, loses anything not synced or exported, so keep a backup either way.
Takes you to the Data tab, where those controls live.
